Tassaro waterfalls – 400 mslm
It is one of the most attractive water falls of the of the medium Emiliano Apennine. The Tassaro stream flows down in a hollow groove between steep sandstone walls, with steps of more than 30 meters.
The canyon is particularly suggestive also for the spectacular shapes created by water erosion along the fall, such as niches, mamelons (breast shaped hillock) and many other “whimsical” erosive shapes, besides for the presence of rare species of vegetation and plants, among which the herb “Lingua Cervina” (the Deer Tongue).
ATTENTION: Currently the site cannot be accessed for safety reasons as a huge slide recently involved the area, partially damaging the fall, which still remains an exceptional natural site worth visiting as soon as secured again.
