Viano – 498 mslm

Ancient Roman rural district, later home to the ancient parish church of San Martino, which rises further downstream.

In the perched village, there is the cylindrical tower and the castle, which was most likely an ancient Roman pago. In the Middle Ages it assumed importance with the Erberia court and later became a possession of the Malaspina.

Walking in the village allows you to observe vestiges of walls, characteristic alleys closed by vaults, round arches and beautiful sandstone streets.
